New edition of our ATF
Web Site was released Monday, May 19, 2003.
Agency referrals for gun prosecutions have almost tripled in recent
years, sharply up from their 1997 low.
ATF's post-9/11 involvement in
terrorism and internal security matters appears to be relatively modest.
The ATF enforcement effort — when measured in terms of population
— focuses on less populous and rural areas rather than some of the
nation's big cities. See new
