As Trump aides celebrate deportations, chilling message sent to migrants

Trump campaigned on a promise to carry out the largest deportation operation in American history, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has ramped up the number of arrests since he took office. But a recent report from Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University found that there is “little evidence that actual immigration arrests and removals have increased over the Biden administration’s record for FY 2024 through January 2025.” Homan has requested additional funding from Congress to carry out Trump’s deportation plan, and Senate Republicans recently passed a budget blueprint for legislation to infuse up to $175 billion for border security and immigration enforcement.
