Available data shows that deportations so far are nowhere near those figures. According to data collected by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University known as TRAC, the Trump administration has removed 27,000 migrants from Jan. 26 to March 8, for a daily average of 661. Reuters reported that removals and returns totaled 37,700 migrants in the first full month of the Trump administration. Those figures were lower than the daily average of 742 migrants removed in the 2024 fiscal year under the Biden administration and the 57,000 removed and returned in the last month.
