The table displays the quantity of deportation cases the United States courts have heard as well as potential violations of international protection obligations. Many cases were litigated during periods of increased deportations, such as the Trump administration, particularly when the deportation of individuals was truly endangering their lives. Political unrest and gang violence in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras were the main causes of legal problems. Additionally, the graphic highlights the ways that court cases and advocacy groups have impacted outcomes by displaying trends in the legal choices accessible to individuals who are facing deportation.
