Unpacking public corruption in the U.S.: An actor-action-target analysis

These state-level studies have provided valuable insights into the structural and institutional determinants and influences of corruption, but Cordis and Milyo (Citation2016) argued that fundamental questions like “What kinds of crimes constitute most public corruption cases?” still remain unanswered, primarily due to limitations of the data source. They addressed this issue through administrative records from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) and conducted descriptive statistics on the disposition of corruption cases.
