Just 41% of the 290 asylum applications decided at the court in August received some form of relief, whether asylum or another formal protective ruling, according to data compiled by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University. While that remained nearly double the national rate of 20%, it represented a sharp drop from August 2024, when the rate was 68%. Over the same yearlong period, the national rate halved from 41%.
