The current backlog of asylum cases in immigration court has swelled to more than 2 million across the country, according to data compiled by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, or TRAC, at Syracuse University. As of fiscal year 2024, the backlog included more than 38,000 in Houston-area immigration courts. |
