Under Trump, courts stacked against immigrants
By J. Dale Shoemaker

Court data obtained by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse and analyzed by Investigative Post indicates that while the total number of cases has only ticked up slightly, the caseload per judge has jumped significantly. The caseload per judge has doubled in Buffalo and quadrupled in Batavia when comparing 2024 under President Biden to Trump’s current term, the data shows. Judges from other jurisdictions are now hearing Western New York cases via video call, lawyers told Investigative Post.
